Reporting to: Digital / Consumer Business Leader (with close alignment to Group CEO, CFO and Risk)

As part of a broader strategy to monetise engagement and build high‑value adjacencies beyond core insurance, the organisation is scaling a digital automotive marketplace and launching a fully integrated lease‑to‑own proposition

The ambition is to transform an existing second‑hand car marketplace into a scalable, profitable consumer finance engine
, embedded directly within a multi‑million‑user digital ecosystem. This role owns the end‑to‑end build: from product and pricing design, to credit, funding partnerships and operational scale.
The Head of Lease‑to‑Own will act as the single accountable owner for this new business line, combining deep financial acumen with a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities Strategy & Proposition- Define the end‑to‑end lease‑to‑own strategy, including target segments, product structures and growth roadmap.
- Design customer propositions that clearly outperform traditional bank and auto‑lender offerings on convenience, flexibility and experience.
- Build and own the multi‑year business case, including P&L, capital requirements, payback and return metrics.
- Design and continuously refine pricing models (lease rates, residual values, balloon payments, fees).
- Develop credit decisioning frameworks using bureau data and internal signals, tailored to GCC market dynamics.
- Partner closely with Risk, Actuarial and Finance to define risk appetite, provisioning and stress testing.
- Optimise portfolio performance using live data on losses, utilisation, early settlements and asset resale values.
- Structure and negotiate funding partnerships with local and regional banks and financiers.
- Design co‑lending or off‑balance‑sheet structures, including economics, risk‑sharing and operational flows.
- Engage with regulators across Qatar and the wider GCC to ensure compliance and anticipate regulatory change.
- Translate the proposition into a fully digital, end‑to‑end journey across app and web (application, credit check, approval, documentation, servicing).
- Work with Product, Technology and UX teams to minimise friction and enable fast approvals where possible.
- Define and optimise operational processes including KYC, underwriting, collections, repossession and asset resale.
- Lead the scale‑up from an initial subset of vehicles to a significantly larger portfolio.
- Act as the single owner for the lease‑to‑own business, reporting regularly to senior leadership on performance and risk.
- Coordinate across digital, finance, legal, actuarial, operations and country teams.
- Define the future operating model and build a lean, high‑impact team as the business scales.
- 10–15+ years in consumer finance, auto finance, leasing or instalment products.
- Background in auto leasing, lease‑to‑own, consumer lending or BNPL strongly preferred.
- Proven experience building or scaling an asset‑backed consumer finance portfolio.
- Demonstrable experience operating in GCC markets, including interaction with local regulators.
- Exposure to digital or marketplace‑based lending models is highly desirable.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen; comfortable owning P&Ls and capital decisions.
- Deep understanding of credit underwriting, portfolio risk and collections in retail finance.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to build and interrogate pricing and risk models.
- Able to translate complex financial logic into scalable digital products.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Strategic yet highly hands‑on in the build phase.
- Entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch.
- Globally minded, culturally agile and willing to be based in Qatar.
