Treasury Officer

Job Summary

The Treasury Officer is responsible for the day-to-day treasury operations in maintaining and monitoring the bank related treasury-related activities. The role will support the compliance and banking deliverables while managing the financial aspects related to an organization's liquidity, cash flow, and financial investments. The primary focus is on optimizing financial resources, ensuring liquidity, and mitigating financial risks.

• Conduct daily update of bank position report.
• Perform bank reconciliations against the GL and reconciliation of any assigned clearing accounts,
• Ensure completion of journal creation for bank account transactions.
• Prepare bank exposure / facility utilization report in a timely manner.
• Handle confidential documents and other sensitive data on a daily basis, including screening data, financial records, banking and compliance information and Know Your Client sensitive materials.
• Review all payments, transfers orders, cheques to ensure compliance on standard and processes.
• Prepare other various journal entries into the system.
• Ensure all screening record keeping is up to date and securely stored in accordance with data protection laws.
• Keep track of account schedules such as Prepayments, Loans and amortization.
• Pro-actively liaise with bank representative in all banking matters and provides guidance on solutions.
• Ensure all areas of work are documented and are in line with organizational due diligence processes.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies

Ability to analyze financial data, including cash flows, liquidity positions, and investment opportunities, to support strategic decision-making and optimize treasury operations.

Understanding of financial risks, such as interest rate risk, currency risk, and liquidity risk, and proficiency in implementing risk management strategies and hedging techniques to mitigate potential exposures.

Knowledge of cash management principles and techniques, including cash forecasting, liquidity management, and cash positioning, to ensure optimal utilization of funds and maintain adequate liquidity levels.

Familiarity with banking products and services, including treasury management systems, electronic banking platforms, and payment systems, to streamline banking operations and enhance efficiency in fund transfers and transactions.

Awareness of regulatory requirements and industry standards governing treasury activities, including financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance obligations, to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
