A-typical Ventures is hiring an Investment Analyst / Associate to join their investment team. This role spans sourcing, research, due diligence, transaction support, and portfolio engagement. You will help drive the investment pipeline, build conviction around new opportunities, and support founders across multiple markets. The role is well-suited to highly analytical, mission-driven individuals with strong curiosity for technology, emerging markets, and early-stage venture capital.
You will report functionally to the Investment Principal and work closely with members of the investment team, while collaborating with colleagues across the broader UTOPIA platform.

Our investment strategy is organized around PODs (Problem-Oriented Deep Dives), which bring together investment, studio, and platform expertise to evaluate opportunities holistically. You will operate within cross-functional PODs, working in small, accountable teams with clear ownership. In this setup, you’ll own specific deal workflows, contribute to POD-level decision-making, and stay aligned with the broader investment team. This structure is designed to support faster iteration, clearer ownership, and closer collaboration than traditional hierarchical models.
The responsibilities below reflect how PODs function in practice, with sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support working closely together.
- Work within the POD structure to identify and evaluate high-potential founders and early-stage investment opportunities across priority markets.
- Manage and support the deal pipeline from initial screening through investment decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across founder, investor, and ecosystem networks.
- Conduct and synthesize diligence across market, product, financial, team, and other relevant dimensions.
- Prepare investment memos, IC materials, and supporting analyses.
- Support transaction execution, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in portfolio monitoring and contribute to value-creation initiatives for portfolio companies.
- Support founders with market insights, benchmarking, and strategic inputs where relevant.
- Collaborate with The Studio and broader UTOPIA platform to ensure aligned founder support.
- Develop sector insights, market maps, and thematic research to inform investment theses.
- Support internal fund operations, reporting, and process improvement as required.
- Represent the fund at ecosystem events, demo days, and regional engagements.
- 1–3 years of experience in venture capital, consulting, corporate finance, or high-growth startups.
- Prior venture capital experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- High level of ownership, curiosity, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in technology, early-stage startups, and emerging markets.
- Arabic language proficiency is preferred.
