Associate - Risk Management National Talent
The opportunity
Within the professional services environment, the management of risk is fundamental to the successful delivery of our client services and promotion of our brand. Our Risk Management team provides a second line of defense support encompassing the technical support and processes which enable and support the delivery of service quality, contain the threat of litigation, limit damage to our reputation and achieve full recovery.
The role is for a Risk and Compliance Officer to assist the Risk and Compliance Lead in primarily supporting Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman (KQO) cluster. You will be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory areas within the cluster are met and conduct ongoing review and evaluation of the framework in respect to compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations to minimize exposure to risk.
Your key responsibilities- Supporting client-serving teams in AML, Risk and Compliance.
- Support regulatory compliance for KQO and provide assistance to other MENA locations as needed.
- Assisting with the development, implementation and management of the firm’s regulatory affairs strategy and compliance framework including compliance policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
- Keeping abreast with key regulatory changes and ensuring prompt and proactive communication to business to ensure appropriate policy and framework changes.
- Assisting with conducting regular compliance risk assessments, monitoring, and testing.
- Assisting with the management of the firm’s end-to-end AML/CFT function for KQO , KYC, sanctions screening, suspicious transaction reporting, monitoring, training, risk assessments and reporting.
- Assisting with Regulatory and Senior Executive Management Reporting.
- Assisting with compliance audits, regulatory inspections and managing effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
- Assisting with regular staff training.
- Participating in other risk management and compliance projects as required; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply conceptual framework to new and unique situations
- Excellent business writing, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a busy, deadline driven environment and meet unexpected client demands
- A high level of confidence in dealing with senior executives and challenging situations
- Arabic Language (Business communication level proficiency)
- Relevant qualifications in Business, Risk and Compliance
- Knowledge of Assurance or other regulated activities, and experience of working with regulators would be an asset.
- A relevant AML/CFT qualification such as a CAMS qualification would be an added advantage.
- Experience in AML, Risk and Compliance will be an added advantage.
