Cost Control Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare periodic cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for management review.
- Track project progress against planned budgets and schedules.
- Review contractor invoices and claims; verify cost accuracy and compliance with contracts.
- Assist in developing project cost estimates, budgets, and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and highlight potential financial risks.
- Provide financial and cost data to the project team to support decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date cost‑related documentation.
- Coordinate with planning, procurement, engineering, and construction teams.
- Ensure adherence to company and project cost control policies and procedures.
- Cost breakdown structure (CBS) development and maintenance.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts and application.
- Contract cost monitoring and change management.
- Financial risk identification and mitigation.
- Preparation of monthly cost reports and dashboards.
- Understanding of Oil & Gas project life cycles and cost drivers.
- 3–7 years of experience in cost control or project controls.
- Prior experience in Oil & Gas or EPC projects is strongly preferred.
