The Senior General Risk Management Analyst plays a key role in supporting the effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risks across the organization. The role is responsible for analyzing the Company's overall risk profile, including operational, market, credit, liquidity, and insurance risks, and providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and risk mitigation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a risk professional to contribute to the enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, support regulatory compliance, and partner with business leaders to strengthen risk awareness and resilience across the organization. The position also supports the preparation of risk reporting, risk assessments, governance activities, and regulatory engagements. This role is subject to prior regulatory approval by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).

Under the direction of the Gulf Head of Risk and Compliance, the candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the business to balance the desire for sustainable growth with the need to maximize risk adjusted returns within the risk appetite of Met Life.

• To act as the approved risk control function for the Qatar operations and ensure effective implementation of local risk management requirements including but not limited to the QCB Executive Regulations
• Ensure effective implementation of risk management regulatory requirements and ongoing adherence to applicable regulatory expectations.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions and responses related to risk management matters.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Risk Management Framework, including the periodic review and update of risk management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Facilitate risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting across business functions.
• Coordinate and facilitate the annual Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) process across business functions.
• Ensure key risks, controls, emerging risks, and remediation plans are appropriately documented and assessed.
• Challenge and review risk assessments submitted by business and functional owners.
• Liaise with regional and global stakeholders to support top-down and bottom-up risk assessments.
• Manage the operational risk event reporting process, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Monitor operational risk action plans and support issue remediation efforts.
• Develop and deliver risk management awareness and training sessions to promote a strong risk culture and enhance understanding of risk management requirements across the organization.
• Support the development, monitoring, and reporting of Risk Appetite Statements (RAS) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Monitor risk exposures against approved limits and thresholds.
• Coordinate risk committee materials, presentations, and meeting documentation.
