Overview
This position is physically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP***. Under the supervision of the Emergency Services Manager, the person is responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well‑trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice. The role selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and continually assesses their readiness and performance.
The officer maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills. Critical tasks include completing the requirements in the PWS and in accordance with DoD regulations, submitting all fire and rescue incident data using the USG Approved Incident Reporting System software, and overseeing scheduling of fire safety inspections, posting fire detection and alarm system operational status, generating fire discrepancy reports, and producing daily manning summaries.

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/
Certifications:
One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. - Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Fire Management). Must provide a copy of diploma or college transcripts.
- Minimum Certification Requirements:
International Fire Service Accreditation Certifications Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter, Driver Operator – Pumper, and Ship Board firefighter (where applicable). - Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Clearance.
- A valid United States (US) driver’s license and the ability to obtain both a State of Qatar (QID) and State of Qatar Driver License (QDL).
- Education/
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Fire Chief or a Deputy Fire Chief.
- Experience with the Army Emergency Management Program (DA PAM 525‑27).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program (DODI 6055.06‑M) or an industrial/municipal equivalent.

- Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and continually assesses their readiness and performance.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (e.g., hot, dry, dusty desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents exists.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
