Position: Hijama Nurse / Cupping Therapy Nurse

Job Summary

The Hijama Nurse is responsible for providing safe, hygienic, and professional cupping (Hijama) therapy services in accordance with Qatar Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) regulations, clinical guidelines, and infection control standards. The role includes patient assessment, preparation, treatment delivery, documentation, and patient education while ensuring high-quality care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Hijama (wet and/or dry cupping) procedures according to approved clinical protocols.
  • Assess patients prior to treatment and identify contraindications.
  • Explain procedures, benefits, risks, and aftercare instructions to patients.
  • Maintain strict infection control and sterilization practices.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and disposable supplies.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures and report any adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with MOPH and facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional behavior and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in audits, training, and quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid Qatar Nursing License (QCHP / DHP).
  • Certified training in Hijama / Cupping Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 1–2 years clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in complementary or alternative medicine settings.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach.
  • Attention to detail and strong hygiene practices.
Work Environment
  • Clinic / Medical Center / Home Care Facility
  • May require flexible shifts depending on service needs.
