Job Summary
Technician works to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, or clean all laboratory or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The CSSD Technician ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections.
Job Responsibilities- Sort, document, and disinfect all the collected equipment, instruments, tubes and bottles using the appropriate procedures.
- Sterilize and disinfect, operate sterilization machines effectively, and ensure equipment are appropriately sterilized for reuse.
- Collect healthcare and laboratory supplies from different departments regularly, and promptly distribute them.
- Disassemble, sterilize, reassemble, and pack instruments according to the infection control guidelines.
- Monitor the sterilization process of clinical equipment and healthcare supplies to ensure quality product and faultless outcome.
- Record sterilizer test results, recognize disorders, and monitor expiry dates; report to the Lead Nurse.
- Properly handle, process, and store sterilized equipment and distribute to the appropriate department timely.
- Collaborate and coordinate with PHCC’s multidisciplinary team to maintain safety of patients in a controlled environment.
- Educate and guide new CSSD Technicians and trainees in performing sterilization activities and operating CSSD equipment.
- Liaise with the Biomedical section regarding regular maintenance and calibration of the machines in the unit.
- Abide by PHCC’s safety and infection control regulations, and ensure implementation of international CSSD standards and practice.
- Strong interpersonal skills, personal drive, commitment, and being a self-starter.
- Prioritizing workload and meeting tight deadlines with high quality output.
- Organized and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of groups. Customer oriented.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement.
- 5 years total experience.
- 3 years on the job.
