Job Requirements
- Have an official international medical coding certificate from a famous school to prove you know the billing rules.
- Show at least two years of past work looking at sick patient files inside a large hospital office.
- Know how to use special hospital computer programs to type the secret disease numbers quickly.
- Read the daily paper notes written by the doctors to understand exactly what medicine the sick patient took.
- Change the difficult illness names into simple number codes so the health insurance company can pay the hospital bill.
- Talk politely with the hospital doctors if you cannot understand their handwriting on the patient health papers.
