Job Description:
The Paramedic will be responsible for providing medical care to individuals in need. This includes assessing the patient’s condition, administering medications, performing CPR and other life-saving procedures as necessary, diagnosing illnesses and injuries, communicating with doctors and other healthcare professionals on behalf of the patient, maintaining records of treatments provided and preparing reports for review.
- Performing pre-hospital assessments, interventions and treatments to manage acute medical conditions;
- Ensuring medical protocols are followed;
- Responding quickly and efficiently to life-threatening or urgent medical situations;
- Assisting in the transport of patients;
- Documenting patient care activities in accordance with established standards;
- Maintaining professional relationships with other members of the healthcare team;
- Maintaining equipment in good working order;
- Educating patients on self-care practices.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required;
- Certification as a Paramedic from an accredited institution required;
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more required;
- Previous experience as a Paramedic preferred;
- A valid driver’s license is strongly preferred (for some positions);
- Good communication skills (verbal & written) are essential for this position.
