Project Context and Scope

The Context and Scope of the project to provide psychosocial support to Afghan nationals residing in Al-Saliyah Camp through the provision of psychological counseling and specialized mental health services. The project focuses on prompt and effective response to the psychological and mental needs of refugees, including psychological assessments, individual support sessions, referrals to advanced services when necessary, and group activities that promote psychological resilience and social cohesion.

This intervention is part of broader humanitarian efforts to improve the quality of life and alleviate the psychological pressures faced by this vulnerable population due to displacement and difficult living conditions.

Responsibilities Tasks to be performed under this contract
  • Promoting participants' self-confidence, creativity, and personal growth, encouraging positive peer interaction and social connectedness and, creating a safe and respectful environment that supports emotional well-being.
  • Support participants in developing healthy coping strategies through music-based activities.
  • Develop structured session plans and activity schedules in consultation with the MHPSS team incorporating various music-based approaches, including singing, rhythm exercises, musical games, instrumental practice, listening activities, and songwriting.
  • Lead individual and group musical activities that encourage participation and self-expression and support participants in exploring emotions and experiences through music in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Identify participants who may require additional support and refer concerns to the MHPSS team.
  • Promote respect, diversity, and inclusion during all activities.
  • Providing group counselling sessions and supporting the implementation of MHPSS activities.
  • Submit brief reports after each session, including attendance, activities conducted, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Promote and maintain confidentiality and the right to privacy regarding the beneficiary and project information.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
  • Session plans and activity outlines.
  • Delivery of scheduled music group sessions.
  • Attendance records for each session.
  • Monthly progress reports.
  • Recommendations for improving participant engagement and programme effectiveness.
  • Support for music-related events or participant showcases as required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience Education & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, Music Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in one or more musical instruments and/or vocal training. Experience working with diverse populations, including migrants, youth, adults, or vulnerable groups and demonstrated ability to facilitate group-based activities is desirable.
