BI Tester: Data Validation & Power BI QA

Responsibilities
- Extensive experience in writing complex SQL, Oracle PL/SQL queries and dealing with stored procedures, functions and triggers.
- Translating business requirements to testing scenarios with expected outcomes and results
- Knowledge in BI applications lifecycle including ETLs, Data warehousing, Data Modeling and Data visualization and unit testing
- Expertise in functional testing, data validation, manual testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing and black box testing.
- Hands on experience in data analysis and performing complicated calculations on data, extraction and transformation of data as per given requirements
- Converting KPIs in data visualization reports to queries to be cross performed on data source databases
- Test effective visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards on Power BI with sound knowledge in DAX queries, calculations, Power BI data modeling and Power Queries.
- Use advanced level calculations on the data set
- Work closely with business analyst and developer to verify requirements met in the solution
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
