Job Purpose
To manage financial information systems solutions for core applications by providing technical and strategic expertise in the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing support of systems, in alignment with organizational goals and automation initiatives
Key Result Areas- Lead financial system business solutions for all core applications in alignment with automation requirements for enhancement projects and initiatives
- Oversee systems governance to ensure continual improvement and high data integrity, with adherence to technical design principles
- Engage with University Technology Services team on system solutions/ modifications to ensure appropriate alignment between technical solutions and business processes
- Manage the availability and quality of running systems and applications
- Provide technical expertise to design, develop, test, and implement new or modified system applications
- Lead the business analysis, research and feasibility study of new or modified system initiatives, and evaluate their delivery post-implementation
- In coordination with financial planning team, lead the design, development, and production of executive-level periodic corporate and divisional budget review packs to assist HBKU leadership with financial monitoring and control
- Support the review and development of information systems policies and procedures
- Oversee business systems support responsibilities in collaboration with the University Technology Services team to ensure smooth business operations
- Identify and review major system-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Monitor internal controls including access to financial systems to ensure effective controls that protect the data information; ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
- Mentor, train, and empower HBKU stakeholders to leverage Finance system capabilities
- Liaise with external/internal auditors with integrity and professionalism for satisfactory completion of audits; take immediate corrective action on any significant audit observations
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or a relevant field
- 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience
- Finance system experience in areas including Oracle ERP and IT Business Solutions/projects
- Excellent understanding of Oracle ERP architecture and ERP financial modules design and development
- Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and manipulate data using Excel is essential
- Proficiency in report and presentation creation
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely;
Arabic proficiency is an advantage
