Overview

Job Title: Database Administrator I

Location: Doha, Qatar

This position is pending contract award.

Job Responsibilities

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a Database Administrator I to support the AFCENT Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) contract at Doha, Qatar.

  • Support the day-to-day management, operation, maintenance and administration of communications and IT systems and services in production, development, exercise and training environments. Perform preventive, remedial, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment and/or systems are in full operating condition as described by the manufacturer without degradation of service.
  • Provide Systems Admin support for C2 communications servers, clients and applications, including but not limited to WAVE, CT-II, Mako, Trans Verse/MXPP, etc.
  • Install, patch, upgrade, tune, optimize and repair hardware and software (including operating systems, applications and databases) to maintain optimal performance.
  • O&M of equipment and/or systems up to and including their demarcation points, coordinating with external entities (other governmental agencies or contractors) in troubleshooting beyond their demarcation point during outages and troubleshooting, as required.
  • Establish a trend analysis program to ensure equipment, systems and services meet minimum operational availability, reliability and survivability requirements (including backup and recovery of end-to-end systems).
  • Identify hardware, software and/or service shortfalls and provide optimization recommendations to the government technical representative.
  • Schedule, coordinate, perform and record Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) on the communication and IT systems and associated hardware according to the original equipment manufacturer’s manuals and applicable government instructions.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance when equipment repairs and/or service restoration is required.
  • Monitor equipment and systems for indications of warnings, faults, alarm conditions and outages; provide fault isolation, diagnostics, troubleshooting and restoration services.
  • Troubleshoot to identify the source of conditions, degradation or outages and implement corrective actions to restore full operational capability.
  • Design, write, modify and implement software programs/applications.
  • Develop “glue-ware” to support operational client applications and security patches.
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support.
  • Install, configure, operate, manage, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, inspect and maintain server systems (physical and virtual), including administration of core and functional services.
  • Manage and administer user accounts, profiles and access; monitor user access to ensure a secure operating environment.
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for more complex end-user client/server database issues not resolvable by Tier 1 staff.
  • Plan, analyze, design, develop, install, troubleshoot, manage and administer databases to ensure system performance, quality, integrity and security.
  • Perform database and application security patching, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Install and integrate new and/or customize existing applications; create custom views, queries, reports and templates.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for database/data dictionaries.
  • Administer and control database access permissions and privileges.
  • Develop, test, execute and manage backup and recovery plans.
  • Perform database configuration, change and capacity management activities.
  • Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
  • Regulation:
    Qatar work visas cannot be issued to individuals aged 60 or over; candidates must be 59 years of age or younger to be eligible for a Qatari work visa as required for this position.
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) Data Management and Analytics or equivalent certification (preferred); or Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) SQL or Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Database, or equivalent certification.
