UI/UX Engineer Job Description
The UI/UX Engineer is responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and user-centric digital experiences for web applications and online platforms. The role focuses on defining site functionality, user interaction, and information architecture while translating business and user requirements into effective visual and interactive designs.
Duties / Tasks- Define site functionality and user interaction based on project requirements and user experience best practices
- Develop information architecture including content hierarchies, site maps, and navigation models aligned with user and client needs
- Gather and analyze requirements through Project Manager meetings, research, and UX analysis
- Produce visual designs that represent layout, content presentation, task flows, and information organization
- Create wireframes, storyboards, interface prototypes, and mockups for responsive websites and applications using tools such as Photoshop and Balsamiq
- Design and develop web pages based on approved designs using tools like Dreamweaver and Visual Studio Code
- Support development teams by assisting in translating design concepts into final functional products
- Develop and implement templates and style sheets to ensure design consistency
- Design interactive models for online learning platforms to enhance user engagement
- Incorporate jQuery, rich media, and emerging web technologies where applicable
- Stay current with evolving UI/UX trends, tools, and web display methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in UI/UX design and front-end development for web applications
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and responsive design
- Hands‑on experience with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop and Balsamiq
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern web technologies
- Experience using development tools such as Dreamweaver and Visual Studio Code
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Self‑motivated with a strong interest in learning and applying new technologies
