Title:

PMO Specialist

Role Purpose

The PMO Specialist supports IT project, program, and portfolio governance by providing standardized reporting, controls, and assurance. The role ensures visibility of demand, performance, costs, and benefits, while supporting adherence to approved project management standards and governance frameworks.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a relevant professional qualification.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in techno‑management IT and/or business project management roles.
  • Hands‑on experience with Project Management tools (EPM, MS Project) and ERP systems (SAP).
  • Strong working knowledge of project management frameworks such as PRINCE2 and PMBOK (PMI).
  • Experience across multiple business sectors with understanding of commercial and operational constraints.
  • Proven application of quality standards to ensure accurate and complete deliverables.
  • Training and experience in data and business analysis methods.
  • Demonstrates high standards of professional conduct with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Qatargas IT strategy, policies, standards, and relevant industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain demand, project, program, and portfolio reporting, including cost summaries.
  • Facilitate project investment appraisals and document decisions using agreed appraisal frameworks.
  • Prepare and maintain planned and updated project, program, and portfolio reports.
  • Provide administrative and governance support to project boards, steering committees, assurance teams, and quality review meetings.
  • Report portfolio and program progress to senior management.
  • Ensure post‑implementation plans and benefit owners are established to support benefits realization.
  • Provide guidance on project management processes, procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Support project planning activities including work breakdown structures, schedules, and estimates.
  • Administer project and program change control to ensure delivery within approved scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Maintain project performance metrics and estimating models and recommend improvements where required.
