IT Technical Support Officer

Responsibilities

• Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
• Regularly monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks, and alerting the IT manager if any issues need to be looked into and resolved.
• Talking staff/colleagues through a series of actions either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
• Independently troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
• Replacing parts as required.
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
• Supporting the roll‑out of new applications.
• Setting up new users accounts and profiles, computer systems, network devices, etc. and dealing with password issues.
• Responding to call‑outs in a timely manner and following through till the task is completed.
• Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time.
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers.
• Testing and evaluating new technology.
• Scheduling and conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment from time to time.
• Assisting the IT Manager in finding and proposing local suppliers and vendors for IT equipment and solutions.
• Study and ensure the organization’s IT policy is being strictly adhered to.

• B.Sc. in Computer Engineering.
• Candidate should hold Microsoft certification.
• 2 years of relevant experience in the same field.
• With prior Qatar Experience is mandatory.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software maintenance.
• Knowledge of virus protection and security software.
• Knowledge of operating systems.
• Knowledge of system back‑up and recovery.
• In‑depth knowledge of all in‑house software systems.
