Position: Senior Manager –  IT Application Management - with General Insurance

We have an urgent requirement for Senior Manager – IT Application Management - with General Insurance domain for our client based in Qatar.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead and manage IT application services for Group client requirements. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire application lifecycle, ensuring seamless operations, effective team leadership, vendor management, and compliance with security and performance standards. This role demands a strong techno‑functional background, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Manage and oversee Group client requirements, ensuring efficient service delivery and continuous improvement. Serve as the primary point of contact for Group clients, addressing concerns and providing strategic IT solutions.
  • Application Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of IT applications, from planning and development to deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning. Ensure applications align with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of account managers, business analysts, and support staff. Foster a high‑performance culture, ensuring team productivity and professional growth.
  • Requirement Analysis & Business

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize application requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications and development roadmaps.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Collaborate with tech’s product teams and external software vendors. Manage vendor relationships to ensure application performance, timely updates, and seamless integration.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Plan and manage the budget for application development, maintenance, and upgrades. Optimize costs while ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
  • Quality Assurance &

    Risk Management:

    Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to meet application performance and security standards. Identify and mitigate risks associated with application development, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations as required. Ensure high availability, scalability, and efficiency of IT applications.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure applications comply with industry security standards and best practices. Work with security teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect data integrity.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience managing enterprise IT applications and large‑scale IT projects.
  • Expertise in vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of insurance domain (Life, Medical, and General Insurance) highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in ITSM tools, ITIL frameworks, and application monitoring tools.
  • IT Manager in Insurance company;
    Cloud Infra/IT Management.
  • Minimum 5 years in IT service delivery.
  • Experience in Business Operations and insurance industry (General Insurance) mandatory.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Data warehousing, architecture and networking knowledge.
  • Managing the implementation, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organizational IT systems including operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones, and peripherals.
Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tech’s products and insurance applications.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) and ITIL Framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based applications and Dev Ops methodologies.
