Technology Support Engineer

Summary:

Offer first‑line support for all Al Jazeera user‑base for user‑facing equipment, software, desktop computer, enterprise and broadcast applications. Coach and mentor engineers and also lead by example.

• Perform review and confirm precautionary maintenance for vital systems to avoid on‑air solution disruption.
• Arrange, configure, maintain customer accounts and passwords (functional accounts, distribution groups, etc.).
• Prepare and create IT database write‑ups and other documentation.
• Provide prompt support for calls and critical areas (on‑air, internet, online individuals, galleries, presenters, studios) with minimal solution disruption.
• Arrange and preserve essential IT tools used by area journalists and external bureaus to ensure service continuity and provide remote support when called.
• Respond to user incidents and requests, logging, updating, and closing all calls in accordance with SLAs/OLAs.
• Coordinate with vendors for repair of defective IT equipment and ensure timely replacement of critical on‑air tools.
• Maintain and participate in on‑site tasks as required.

• Bilingual in Arabic & English.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or relevant field.
• ITIL structure certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of IT technologies, networking, and various operating system configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting and support skills.
