Database Administrator (SQL Server and Oracle) Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline.
• Administration of Oracle 10g/11g and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2005.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization using native Oracle and SQL Server troubleshooting tools.
• Experience in Oracle and SQL Server backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Experience in index management and optimization (Oracle and SQL Server).
• Experience in PL-SQL and T-SQL scripting.
• Experience in SQL Server database replication.
• Experience in disaster recovery management like log shipping, database mirroring, RMAN, Data Guard.
• Working experience with n-tier architectures along with experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Willing to take initiatives and lead by example.

3-4 years of experience in the Oracle and SQL Server database administration area.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Oracle 10g/11g, RMAN, Linux; preferred to have experience with Oracle Data Guard.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with SQL Server 2008 R2/2005, Windows Server 2008 R2, Log shipping, Database Replication.

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization.
• Candidate should be a self‑motivated, independent, detail‑oriented, responsible team‑player.
• Demonstrable experience of managing, owning and delivering high‑quality projects to objectives and within time scale with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to make decisions based on best practices.
• Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and essential tools/software is necessary.
• Sound working knowledge of application integration and testing.
• Passionate about problem solving and troubleshooting.
