Overview
Are you an SAP veteran who has designed enterprise landscapes, led S/4
HANA migrations, and set technical direction at an organisational level? One of Qatar's leading national transport companies is looking for an SAP Technical Architect to take full ownership of their SAP technical estate and lead a major transformation programme from the front. This is a senior, high‑impact role where your architecture decisions shape how an entire nation’s transport infrastructure runs strong.
- Own the SAP technical architecture across the organisation.
- Define standards, review custom development, enforce clean core principles, and ensure every technical decision is sound, scalable and aligned to the long‑term roadmap.
- Lead the end‑to‑end technical design for the migration—from landscape assessment and custom code impact analysis to migration approach and execution oversight. Include greenfield, brownfield or selective data transition.
- Design and govern integrations between SAP and the wider enterprise ecosystem using SAP Gateway, OData, CPI, BTP Integration Suite and middleware platforms.
- Provide technical oversight and code review governance across ABAP for HANA, CDS views, Fiori UI5 applications and OData services; guide the team toward performance, simplicity and side‑by‑side extensibility on BTP.
- Lead and mentor the team, contribute to RFPs and represent the technical function at the highest level.
- Engage with IT leadership, business units, project managers and SAP vendors as a bridge between stakeholders.
- 10+ years of SAP experience with a strong architecture track record.
- Deep expertise in SAP Net Weaver, ABAP, Fiori/UI5,OData and SAP Gateway.
- Proven hands‑on experience with S/4
HANA and ECC‑to‑S/4
HANA migration, Integration Architecture including CPI, BTP, REST/SOAP APIs. - Strong technical governance and code review leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex architecture to non‑technical stakeholders.
- SAP Certified Technology Architect or equivalent — highly preferred.
- Qatar / GCC experience is a strong advantage.
