Senior Project Manager Data - T24 Modernisation; Banking

Role Overview

This is a senior delivery role responsible for leading and governing all data migration, transformation, reconciliation, cleansing, governance, testing, cutover, and data readiness activities for the T24 Core Banking Modernisation programme at a leading Qatar-based financial institution.

The Data Workstream PM will own the end-to-end data migration strategy and execution across the transition from legacy T24 modules to the target T24 platform and all downstream peripheral systems. The role combines deep technical data migration expertise with strong programme management capability and the ability to manage multiple SI vendors simultaneously.

• Data Migration Strategy & Scope:
  Establish the overall data migration strategy and define migration methodologies, incremental delta load approaches, extraction strategies, and distribution frameworks for newly introduced T24 modules and downstream reporting environments. Manage documentation of all source systems, target systems, data mappings, and peripheral solutions. Coordinate source-to-target mapping workshops involving Business SMEs, IT SMEs, and peripheral application owners. Govern development of transformation logic and code transformation rules.
  
  Ensure downstream systems receive required transformed data and remain synchronised post go‑live.
• Data Extraction & Cleansing:
  Coordinate application owners and database administrators to extract data from legacy T24 modules including FT, LD, MM, and related domains. Partner with business stakeholders to execute data cleansing and remediation activities. Drive data quality improvement initiatives and ensure only cleansed, validated, and trusted data enters the target platform.
• Vendor & Governance Management:
  Manage and coordinate SI vendors responsible for migration and reconciliation activities. Govern all SI data migration delivery, provide guidance and support to delivery teams, and hold vendors accountable for agreed deliverables and quality standards. Establish migration standards, validation rules, and sign‑off criteria. Ensure full compliance with data privacy, masking, and regulatory requirements throughout the programme.
• Mock Migration & Loading:
  Coordinate scheduling and execution of multiple mock migration cycles. Validate ETL performance, speed, and migration accuracy across each run. Optimise migration windows, minimise production downtime during final cutover, and reduce extraction and loading durations. Coordinate parallel loading into downstream systems while maintaining synchronisation with T24.
• Reconciliation & Testing:
  Oversee development of automated reconciliation capabilities. Validate reconciliation across General Ledger balances, customer balances, loan portfolios, product balances, and customer records. Lead triage and resolution of all migration‑related defects.
• Cutover:
  Own detailed minute‑by‑minute cutover runbooks covering freeze periods, extraction windows, load sequences, validation checkpoints, and execution steps. Secure readiness approvals from Business, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and IT stakeholders. Define rollback procedures and recovery mechanisms and ensure preservation of data integrity in rollback scenarios.
• Workstream Management:
  Plan, organise, track, govern, and report all data‑related workstream activities. Manage cross‑functional dependencies and issues. Provide regular status updates to the Programme PMO and executive stakeholders.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in data management, data migration, or IT programme management with at least one full lifecycle core banking migration programme as a senior lead.
• Deep hands‑on expertise in large‑scale ETL design, build, and execution in a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ODS environments, and downstream integration impact assessment.
• Proven experience leading data governance, data quality management, and reconciliation frameworks on a core banking programme.
• Experience managing and holding accountable multiple SI vendors on a concurrent data migration delivery.
• Experience with regulatory reporting data migrations and compliance with data privacy and masking requirements.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive reporting capability.

• Direct experience on a Temenos T24 migration programme, particularly involving FT, LD, MM, or related T24 modules.
• Experience in a Qatar, GCC, or Middle East banking environment.
• Familiarity with Islamic banking data structures and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of modern data engineering tools and ETL platforms relevant to core banking migrations.
• CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or equivalent data management certification.
