Database Administrator (SQL Server and Oracle)

Responsibilities:

• Administration of Oracle 10g/11g and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2005.
• Performance tuning and optimization using native Oracle and SQL Server troubleshooting tools.
• Backup, restore, and recovery management for Oracle and SQL Server.
• Index management and optimization.
• PL/SQL and T‑SQL scripting.
• SQL Server database replication.
• Disaster Recovery management such as Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, RMAN, Data Guard.
• Experience with n-tier and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Initiative and leadership in database environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• 3‑4 years of experience in Oracle and SQL Server database administration.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Oracle 10g/11g, RMAN, Linux; experience with Oracle Data Guard preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with SQL Server 2008 R2/2005, Windows Server 2008 R2, Log Shipping, Database Replication.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Self‑motivated, independent, detail‑oriented, responsible team‑player.
• Experience managing, owning and delivering high‑quality projects on time.
• Decision‑making based on best practices.
• Adaptability to changing environments and learning new concepts/tools.
• Knowledge of application integration and testing.
• Passionate about problem solving and troubleshooting.
