Core Banking Specialist

Administer, monitor and resolve issues related to Core Banking Systems Activities (Temenos) while ensuring that the applications are being utilized effectively with the provision of efficient cost-effective solution for the bank users.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Application Development

• Monitor and In-charge of the Bank’s overall IT core banking systems so as to minimize response time and maximize efficiency. Systems includes:
• Coordinate with the product development teams to migrate new products into solutions when applicable.
• Provide technical support and expertise with respect to the development and integration of IT projects and new systems.
• Liaise with business division heads and key staff to translate business requirements into IT solutions.
• Liaise with business heads to implement and continuously improve all systems.
• Ensure that developed solutions satisfy business and operational requirements.
• Identify system interdependencies and flag all issues to Project Management Office.
• Participate in developing RFPs and on selecting third party vendors.
• Develop required documentation for all new IT core systems and channels projects.

System Performance

• Monitors the system performance, obtain feedback from users, study complex problems, recommend and initiate resolution and advise on the modifications to enhance system performance.
• Monitor vendor staff to ensure that application support standards are followed.
• Work closely with third-party vendors to enhance assigned applications for performance, robustness and stability at a competitive costs without compromising on quality.
• Provide on-site support to vendors in relation to requests related to applications to facilitate effective service delivery.
• Liaise with external bodies to resolve any transaction problems or disputes that cannot be resolved in the Bank.
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to facilitate cost optimisation and productivity improvement.
• Launch applications upgrades initiatives and analyse the cost benefits of such upgrades.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant IT experience
• Experience in the banking sector is preferred.

• COB Management | COB execution and performance optimization
• Core L3 Java Development | Extensibility Framework
• T24 Integration Framework (IF, IRIS) | API Integrations | T24 Workbench & Design Studio
• Oracle, SQL Server | JBoss, Web Sphere, Web Logic, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ;
  Oracle, SQL, and MySQL databases
• Knowledgeable in Temenos Data Model, AA/Non-AA products, and core banking modules.
• Troubleshooting of performance issues related T24 and DLM jobs.
