Job Description:Key Responsibilities
- Track alerts for:
- Services Down
- MPLS link down / latency / packet loss
- VPN tunnel down
- Degradation on the link
- Identify service impact and classify alarms (P1/P2/P3)
- Log incidents in tools (
Service Now / Remedy / Jira
) - Categorize based on service, severity, and impact
- Ensure timely acknowledgment and updates
- Follow defined SLA / TAT
- Interface status (up/down)
- Device reachability (ping/trace route)
- VPN tunnel status
- Basic SD-WAN checks
- Validate whether issue is:
- Access issue
- ISP problem
- Device-level fault
- Escalate to L2 / OEM / ISP / Field teams
- Follow defined escalation matrix for P1/P2 cases
- Ensure no delay in high-priority incidents
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Share shift handover notes and status summary
- Ensure incident lifecycle adherence
- Maintain proper documentation in tickets
- Follow SOPs and audit requirements
- Basic understanding of:
- TCP/IP, Routing & Switching
- MPLS concepts (L2
VPN/L3
VPN – basic) - SD-WAN basics (overlay/underlay)
- Internet & VPN services
- Familiarity with:
- Ping, trace route, basic CLI
- Monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
