• 1. Advanced Troubleshooting & Fault Isolation Diagnose complex issues related to:
  
  MPLS L3
  
  VPN / L2
  
  VPN failures Routing issues (BGP, OSPF, Static routes) SD-WAN overlay/underlay instability Latency, jitter, packet loss Perform deep analysis using CLI, logs, and monitoring tools
• 2. Incident Resolution & Service Restoration Own P1/P2 incidents escalated by L1
  
  Restore services within MTTR targets Troubleshoot:
  
  PE/CE connectivity issues VRF routing problems Tunnel failures (IPSec/SD-WAN) QoS-related degradation
• 3. Routing & Protocol Analysis Hands-on experience in:
  
  BGP (peering, route propagation issues) OSPF (neighbourship, LSDB issues) MPLS labels & forwarding Identify routing loops, flaps, asymmetry
• 4. SD-WAN Operations Troubleshoot SD-WAN solutions (Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet etc.) Validate:
  
  Edge device status Control connections Overlay tunnels Policy/config issues
• 5. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Perform detailed RCA for major incidents Identify root causes:
  
  Config issues Hardware/software fault ISP/backhaul issues Policy misconfigurations Provide Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
• 6. Change & Implementation Support Validate and support:
  
  Network changes Config modifications Routing updates Device upgrades Ensure impact assessment and rollback readiness
• 7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Coordinate with:
  
  OEMs (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.) ISPs / carrier providers Manage vendor escalations and TAC cases
• 8. Performance & Stability Improvement Analyze recurring incidents Drive network optimization Recommend improvements for:
  
  Routing stability Bandwidth optimization SD-WAN policy tuning
• 9. L1 Support & Governance Guide L1 team on troubleshooting Improve SOPs and knowledge base Ensure quality checks on ticket handling

Required Technical Skills Strong expertise in:

MPLS (L2/L3 VPN) Routing protocols – BGP, OSPFTCP/IP stack SD-WAN architecture (Viptela/Meraki/Fortinet) Hands-on in:

CLI troubleshooting Network logs & packet analysis Knowledge of:

QoS, SLA tracking Redundancy & failover mechanisms

Experience & Qualification3–7 Years experience

B. Tech / Diploma (Telecom / Networking / IT)

Certifications:

CCNA/CCNP (preferred) SD-WAN certification (added advantage)

C. Common Competencies (L1 & L2) Strong understanding of:
