Job SummaryOversee the Documentation & Consultation Team (Advisory team) and is responsible for managing and supervising three team members who handle all official letters, notifications, and regulatory correspondence with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and any other authorities. This role ensures that all outgoing and incoming communications comply with regulatory requirements, meet internal standards, and are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
The Legal Manager also provides legal guidance, reviews documentation, and ensures consistency and quality in all legal and regulatory submissions.
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate the performance of three team members responsible for drafting and handling correspondence with QCB and any other authority.
- Allocate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of all documentation.
- Prepare SLAs with other business units to ensure proper Time turned Around for all the tasks
- Provide coaching, training, and development to enhance team efficiency and legal drafting skills.
- Demonstrate a constructive attitude when engaging with colleagues, stakeholders and other business units.
- Oversee all official communications, letters, responses, and submissions sent to QCB, the courts, Police, Public Prosecution, GAMA, and any additional competent authorities.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of all correspondence before issuance.
- Draft and/or review all official communication prepared by team members and approved final submissions.
- Maintain strong understanding of QCB regulations, circulars, and procedural requirements.
- Draft, review (legal opinions, memos) and responses to inquiries from branches and internal departments.
- Provide advice, support and assistance with negotiation and documentation on legal issues of international and domestic scope.
- Coordinate compliance with applicable local and international laws, regulations and standards of best practice in resolving legal concerns.
- Where foreign jurisdictions may be involved, engage with external counsel to provide legal opinions or advice in context.
- Collaborate with EGM
- Chief Legal Officer in reviewing and analyzing complex legal issues arising from branch inquires.
- Monitor deadlines for regulatory submissions and ensure full compliance.
- Prepare periodic reports on all correspondence received, regulatory issues, and team performance, on monthly basis to be submitted to Head of Admin and EGM-chief Legal Officer.
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate presentation and reports upon request.
- Oversee the process of filing and maintaining all relevant documentation in both a hardcopy filing system and in an electronic database; strive to continuously update files on the database to mitigate risk.
- Recommend changes and modifications to the existing structure or methodology of legal issues with the purpose of enhancing and simplifying them, to safeguard and advance the Bank interests.
Required Qualifications:
- Very good in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Attention to detail.
- Strong in review of contracts
- Qatar banking experience.
- Legal Advisory
- Legal degree in a recognised jurisdiction.
Minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
