Job Overview

As the Head of Material Management, Purchasing and Tooling, you will be responsible for leading all logistics operations related to the procurement, supply, certification, and storage of aircraft parts, tools, and materials. You will work closely with Maintenance, Procurement, and CAMO departments to ensure timely and compliant support for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities, both for Qatar Airways and third‑party customers.

You'll Do
  • Oversee end‑to‑end inventory management and logistics of all approved aircraft parts, components, and tooling
  • Lead the supply chain team to ensure cost‑effective, compliant, and efficient material flow across operations
  • Manage supply planning, procurement, repair logistics, and storage under QCAA and EASA Part‑145 standards
  • Develop quality control systems, safety procedures, and training requirements for logistics staff
  • Coordinate with CAMO, Technical Procurement, and Maintenance departments to align supply strategy
  • Define provisioning agreements with third‑party maintenance customers
  • Plan and monitor the Supply Chain budget and ensure fiscal accountability
  • Supervise goods receiving, warehousing, packing, shipping, and tool calibration logistics
  • Ensure full traceability and statutory compliance for all parts and documentation
  • Maintain a certified inspection and document retention system for logistics records
  • Support the VP Technical Procurement and VP Supply Chain in contract negotiations and supplier management
  • Address audit findings, implement corrective actions, and uphold quality and safety standards
  • Lead and develop a diverse team, creating a high‑performance, collaborative environment
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aviation Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, MPD, AMMs, IPCs, and CMMs
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation logistics, supply chain leadership, or aircraft materials management
  • In‑depth understanding of QCAA, EASA, ICAO regulations and documentation
  • Proven ability to lead strategic change, optimize inventory control, and reduce turnaround time
  • Proficient in MSG‑3 methodology and maintenance planning principles
  • Demonstrated excellence in crisis decision‑making and high‑pressure operations
  • Track record of building and leading successful logistics teams in large aviation settings
  • Excellent stakeholder management and contract negotiation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in logistics systems, ERP tools, and documentation workflows
  • Fluent in English with strong presentation and reporting abilities
