Job Summary

The Corporate Affairs Director provides strategic leadership across Corporate Governance and Government & Regulatory Affairs to protect and enhance the Organisation’s reputation and ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, applicable laws, regulatory frameworks. The role oversees engagement with stakeholders, authorities, external and internal counterparts, including decision-making process, contract provisions reviews and dispute resolution, and safeguards the Organisation’s interests across all external and internal interfaces.

The Director advises senior leadership on legal, regulatory, political, and reputational risks while enabling smooth execution of the Company’s business activities.

Job Responsibilities 1 Corporate Governance and Board Affairs
  • Support governance frameworks and ensure alignment with agreements, corporate policies, compliance requirements, and Board directives.
  • Oversee preparation of Board and Executive Committees documentation, including submissions, resolutions, and minutes.
  • Maintain statutory records and ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance across the Organisation.
2. Stakeholder and External Affairs
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including shareholders, investors, authorities and any other counterparts.
  • Represent the Organisation in executive meetings (Board of Directors, shareholders meetings) and external high-level forums and any other external engagements.
3. Legal Affairs and Compliance
  • Oversee all legal matters, ensuring compliance with agreements, applicable laws, labour regulations, commercial requirements, and corporate obligations.
  • Lead legal advisory for major contracts, agreements, disputes, and regulatory risks, including coordination with external counsel.
  • Ensure governance standards, statutory requirements, and legal risk assessments are implemented across the Organisation.
4. Government and Regulatory Affairs
  • Manage strategic relationships with stakeholders, clients, investors, partners, authorities to support operational continuity and compliance.
  • Oversee licensing, permits, approvals, registrations, and all regulatory documentation required for business operations.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes, advising leadership on implications and ensuring alignment with sector-specific requirements.
5. Corporate Communications
  • Develop and lead the Organisation’s communication strategy, ensuring consistent internal and external messaging.
  • Oversee media relations, public statements, executive communication, and crisis communication protocols.
  • Keep management and employees informed of relevant agreement provisions and control their application in the course of business communication and information transfer.
  • Monitor communication with external and internal counterparts ensuring consistency, timeliness and efficiency of information exchange.
6. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Lead the Organisation’s CSR strategy, ensuring alignment with national priorities and corporate values.
  • Oversee CSR programs, partnerships, reporting, and impact assessments.
7. Leadership & Department Management
  • Lead the Corporate Affairs division (Corporate Governance, Legal, Government Relations, Communications, CSR) ensuring performance, alignment, and capability development.
  • Manage departmental planning, budget utilisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Guide talent development and succession planning to strengthen organisational capability.
Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of governance framework, commercial law, labour regulations, policy frameworks, and government processes.

Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership.

Excellent analytical, reporting, and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

15+ years of Corporate Governance and Affairs, Legal, or Government Relations experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

Experience working with stakeholders, regulatory bodies and government institutions.
