The PDI Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) operations to ensure all new vehicles are inspected, prepared, and delivered to customers in accordance with manufacturer standards and company quality requirements. The role ensures vehicles are delivered on time, in excellent condition, and with all required accessories and documentation completed.
The PDI Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) operations to ensure all new vehicles are inspected, prepared, and delivered to customers in accordance with manufacturer standards and company quality requirements. The role ensures vehicles are delivered on time, in excellent condition, and with all required accessories and documentation completed.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the PDI department and ensure smooth workflow.
- Plan and monitor the PDI schedule based on vehicle arrivals, sales requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Ensure all vehicles undergo thorough PDI according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Supervise PDI technicians, supervisors, and support staff and allocate work accordingly.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure vehicles are free from defects, damage, warning lights, and technical issues before delivery.
- Ensure proper installation and inspection of accessories, protective items, and customer-requested options.
- Coordinate with Sales, Service, Parts, Accessories, Logistics, and Warranty teams to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
- Monitor vehicle preparation status and provide regular updates to management.
- Ensure all PDI checklists, inspection reports, and related documentation are completed accurately.
- Identify recurring quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant departments.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and stored properly while awaiting delivery.
- Monitor turnaround time and productivity and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, dealership policies, health & safety requirements, and workshop procedures.
- Manage PDI-related tools, equipment, consumables, and resources.
- Monitor team performance, attendance, training, and productivity.
- Handle escalated vehicle preparation and quality issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare periodic PDI performance reports for management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce preparation time, rework, and delivery delays.
