Madre Integrated Engineering | Full time
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Fabricator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into high-quality structural components based on technical blueprints. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of metal properties, mastery of welding techniques, and a commitment to precision that ensures every joint and beam meets strict safety and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Layout & Assembly: Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop sketches to plan the sequence of tasks.
- Material Preparation: Use torches, saws, and grinders to cut and shape steel beams, plates, and pipes to exact specifications.
- Welding & Joining: Perform high-quality welds (MIG, TIG, or Stick) in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) ensuring deep penetration and structural integrity.
- Precision Measurement: Utilize callipers, squares, and laser levels to ensure all components meet tolerances—often within fractions of an inch.
- Rigging & Handling: Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment to move heavy structural members safely through the shop.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct self-inspections of welds and dimensions; troubleshoot and rectify any misalignments or defects before final assembly.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly adhere to OSHA guidelines and PPE requirements at all times.
"A great fabricator doesn't just follow a drawing; they understand how the final structure breathes and bears weight. We are looking for someone who takes pride in the 'art' of the weld and the logic of the build."
- Problem Solver: You can identify potential design flaws in a drawing before the first cut is made.
- Reliable: You understand that structural deadlines impact the entire construction timeline.
- Team Player: You communicate effectively with engineers and site foremen to ensure project success.
Qualifications and skills include proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick), strong understanding of metal fabrication, attention to detail, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment operation experience (cranes, forklifts), and compliance with safety standards.
