About Threshold

At Threshold, our diverse team is united by a common goal: to redefine the landscape of strategic communications through a collaborative, innovative, and client-centered approach. Our team came together with a shared purpose and a commitment to deliver excellence built on trust, synergy and ethos. Our strategies, implemented by a team renowned for delivering outcomes, act as catalysts that enable clients to drive change and create meaningful impact.

The role:

The Strategy Manager advises government, semi-government, and private sector clients on positioning, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. This role combines strategic counsel with hands-on delivery across communications, media relations, and research, translating client objectives into actionable strategies that strengthen institutional standing and build strong national and international networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Advisory:
Design and implement communication strategies that strengthen client institutional positioning and reputation, aligning recommendations with each client’s strategic objectives.
  • Media Engagement:
Develop media strategies and manage relationships with domestic and international outlets; advise clients on proactive and reactive media approaches, including message development and spokesperson preparation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain networks with key government, semi-government, and private sector stakeholders, ensuring engagement is aligned with client strategic objectives and long‑term relationship value.
  • Market Research & Analysis:
Conduct in‑depth research to identify opportunities, trends, and risks across the client’s operating environment, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Crisis Communications:
Advise on and manage crisis communication strategies, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective messaging that protects client reputation and maintains public trust during sensitive or fast‑moving situations.
  • Content Development:
Draft high‑quality communication materials — speeches, talking points, press releases, and briefing notes — that align with each client’s broader strategic narrative.
  • Team & Account Leadership:
Manage and mentor appointed colleagues, reviewing deliverables for quality and strategic alignment before client submission.
  • Client Management:
Serve as a trusted day‑to‑day advisor to client leadership, managing account relationships and identifying opportunities to expand scope of work.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, Journalism, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Solid experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or government relations, ideally within a consultancy, agency, or in‑house government/corporate communications function.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior government or executive stakeholders on positioning, reputation, or crisis matters.
  • Proven track record managing media relationships and executing communication strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members and coordinating multi‑workstream client accounts.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate research and insight into practical, client‑ready recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
Arabic fluency is essential given the government client base.
  • Sound judgment and composure under pressure, particularly in crisis or reputationally sensitive situations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills across government, media, and private sector audiences.
  • High‑attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines concurrently.
  • Cultural and political sensitivity when operating in government and diplomatic environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with media monitoring and research tools is a plus.
WHAT THRESHOLD OFFERS
  • The opportunity to advise high‑profile government and institutional clients on matters of national significance.
  • A collaborative, fast‑paced consultancy environment with direct exposure to senior leadership and client principals.
  • Professional development and growth pathways toward senior/director‑level consultancy roles.
