Key Result Areas:

• Define and implement QF’s long-term media strategy, positioning the organization as a global leader in education, research, science, and culture.

• Shape QF’s international media identity and ensure alignment with Qatar’s national priorities and global ambitions.

• Anticipate global media trends, crises, and opportunities, ensuring proactive and resilient positioning.

• Serve as the key advisor to QF CCO Division’s management on media strategy, reputation management, and international influence.

• Translate complex organizational priorities into clear narratives that resonate with global audiences.

• Collaborate with the Head of Press Office and Media Relations to ensure flawless execution of strategy.

• Guide QF’s entity-level communications focal points to align with QF’s overarching media positioning.

• Ensure synergy between media, digital, marketing, events, and internal communications to deliver cohesive and high-impact campaigns.

• Build and sustain high-level relationships with global editors, senior media executives, and influential networks.

• Forge strategic partnerships with international media houses, agencies, and organizations to amplify QF’s presence and influence.

• Represent QF at international media forums and ensure QF’s perspectives are reflected in global policy-shaping conversations.

• Lead the adoption of innovative media strategies, integrating multimedia, digital storytelling, and emerging technologies.

• Establish robust systems for media analytics, benchmarking, and performance measurement.

• Translate insights into foresight, using data to drive decisions and to prepare QF for emerging opportunities or risks.

• Define and oversee QF’s media engagement frameworks and policies to ensure consistency, credibility, and compliance across all entities.

• Lead and mentor internal teams, building institutional capability in strategic media management.

• Contribute to departmental business planning, budgets, KPIs, and risk management, ensuring accountability for QF’s media reputation.

• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Knowledge,

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.

• 6-8 years of full-time work experience in media relations, press office management, or strategic communications, preferably within large organizations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

• Strong knowledge of media landscapes (traditional, digital, social), press protocols, newsroom operations, and PR practices, with established networks among media professionals and agencies.

• Skilled in strategic planning, project management, and organizational oversight, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and adjust media performance.

• Excellent writing and editing skills for press releases, speeches, reports, and editorial content; confident in public speaking, spokesperson support, and delivering media training.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with effective time management;
  Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

• Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely;
  Arabic proficiency is an advantage

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with media monitoring/PR tools such as Meltwater and Cision.
