The IVF Nurse provides specialized nursing care and support to patients undergoing fertility treatments. The role involves clinical assistance during assisted reproductive procedures, patient education, coordination of care, and emotional support throughout the fertility journey.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties- Assist physicians during IVF, IUI, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and other fertility procedures.
- Administer medications related to fertility treatments (e.g., hormone injections) as prescribed.
- Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and report any concerns to the medical team.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure post-procedure care and monitoring.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients and partners on treatment plans, medication administration, and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients undergoing fertility treatment.
- Answer patient inquiries and provide clear instructions throughout the treatment cycle.
- Coordinate patient schedules, appointments, and treatment cycles.
- Liaise with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to hospital policies, IVF protocols, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education related to reproductive health.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in IVF, OB-GYN, or women’s health
- Certification or training in fertility nursing is an advantage
- Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of assisted reproductive technologies (ART)
- Ability to provide compassionate patient-centered care
- Attention to detail and confidentiality
- Team-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
