Quality Control Inspector – Doha, Qatar

We are looking to hire a QC Inspector for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. The role is a long‑term contract of 2 to 4 years.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position; experience in GCC is desirable. Fluency in English is a must. Due to visa limitations, applicants from Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Israel, Congo, Afghanistan and Libya will not be accepted unless they already reside in Qatar with a valid QID. Residents with QID should press NO when prompted for sponsorship transfer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the client’s management system elements applicable to the function.
  • Ensure personal safety and safety of others, proactively participate in safety matters affecting construction.
  • Prevent pollution to the environment within the project.
  • Coordinate inspection and test requirements on behalf of the client.
  • Familiarize with project and discipline‑specific inspection documentation to understand contract requirements.
  • Be familiar with international codes, standards and regulations (e.g., QCS, ACI, AISC).
  • Implement quality inspection procedures on construction activities, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure inspection documentation meets Project Quality Plan, ITPs and other project requirements.
  • Complete relevant forms and prepare reports for inspection records.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, third parties and end users.
  • Ensure measurement and testing equipment is calibrated and records are available.
  • Assist construction personnel in developing required quality documentation (method statements, work procedures, ITPs, inspection records).
  • Assist in identifying problems and proposing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with field supervisors and contractors to stay aware of planned/completed work.
  • Assist Quality Engineer in inspecting and reviewing quality documents for concrete casting, steel fixing, grouting, structure erection, block works, soil & excavation, material receiving.
  • Monitor contractors’ quality procedures and QA/QC activities for concrete, steel, grouting, structure, block works, soil & excavation and material receiving.
  • Ensure civil activities comply with project requirements; prepare and approve tests and reports for documentation packages.
  • Witness site & laboratory tests related to civil activities.
  • Monitor material and equipment usage against specifications.
  • Carry out random checks on receiving and inspection of certified batch plants, mixers, lifting gear, etc.
  • Verify delivery documents against purchase orders, specifications and material certificates.
  • Reject any material that does not meet specifications or lacks authentic material certificate.
  • Carry out random dimensional checks on materials.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to close out nonconformances.
  • Monitor trends of noncompliance to client requirements and report contractor performance.
  • Initiate surveillance/NCRs for QC Engineer approval.
Requirements
  • Civil, Structural or Architecture degree and/or diploma with experience in Quality Control in the multidisciplinary construction environment.
  • Preferably formal training in QC and membership with recognized charted or other professional institution.
  • 10 years of experience in a similar position; experience in GCC is desirable.
  • Sound working knowledge of QC aspects and testing requirements related to major oil & gas, tank farm, pipeline, petrochemical construction projects.
  • Ability to work well with contractors, personnel and colleagues at all levels in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
