QA/QC Inspector (Marine) – NACE/AMPP Level IIPosition: QA/QC Inspector (Marine)
Certification: NACE/AMPP Level II (Mandatory)
Key Responsibilities- Carry out fit-up inspection, visual inspection, and dimensional verification in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and procedures, and prepare inspection reports.
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (MPI, DPT, UT, RT) as per project and class requirements and submit detailed reports.
- Conduct ultrasonic thickness gauging inspections and prepare reports in compliance with Class Society requirements using AutoCAD drawings and approved thickness measurement software.
- Witness and monitor pressure testing and vacuum testing activities as per project specifications and issue inspection certificates.
- Coordinate and liaise with client representatives for scheduled QA/QC surveillance and inspection activities.
- Liaise with Class Societies and third-party inspection agencies for inspections, surveys, and quality assurance activities.
- Perform inspection, testing, and measurement activities for mechanical and machine shop works, including shaft alignment, bearing alignment, trueness, and related checks.
- Carry out paint material incoming inspections and monitor surface preparation, blasting, and final painting inspections in line with approved paint specifications.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to approved procedures, inspection plans, and quality requirements by production teams.
- Ensure proper control of welding consumables, material handling, identification, traceability, and calibration of equipment.
- Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions for NCRs, customer complaints, and other non-conformities.
- Maintain QA/QC documents and inspection records in accordance with document control procedures.
- Perform incoming material inspections and prepare inspection reports.
- Prepare and maintain welding and NDT traceability master trackers, as required.
- Ensure all QA/QC inspection and measuring instruments are calibrated and calibration registers are maintained.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures at all work sites.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by management in line with job responsibilities.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Marine / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industries; GCC experience preferred.
- Certification: CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI.
- ASNT Level II certification in RT, UT, PT, and MT.
- NACE Level II / AMPP Level II or BGAS Grade 2 certification (mandatory / added advantage as applicable).
- ISO 9001:2015 QMS training certification will be an added advantage.
