Manager Technical Quality is responsible for the functional operation of assigned quality assurance processes, ensuring aircraft, systems, and organizational practices comply with regulatory, safety, and airworthiness requirements. The role acts independently while working closely with senior management, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to maintain approvals, manage audits, and uphold technical quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards across assigned technical areas
- Lead, mentor, and develop reporting personnel to ensure competency, compliance, and performance standards
- Liaise with aviation regulatory authorities on airworthiness, compliance matters, approvals, and renewals
- Establish, renew, and maintain regulatory approvals, ratings, and organizational capabilities as required
- Review, communicate, and implement changes in regulatory or company requirements in a timely manner
- Manage review, amendment, and approval of technical manuals, expositions, procedures, and forms
- Ensure timely issuance and continued validity of Airworthiness Review Certificates through effective review of records
- Manage deviations including concessions, MEL extensions, and maintenance program variations
- Review technical quality, airworthiness, and safety queries and provide recommendations to senior quality management
- Operate and manage an independent audit system covering internal operations, contracted maintenance, and suppliers
- Ensure non-compliance findings are reported, tracked, and closed with appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain and control audit records and authorized personnel documentation
- Process authorization applications and manage issuance or revocation of company authorizations
- Develop and maintain continuing airworthiness approvals in line with QCAA requirements
- Ensure Quality Management System functions in alignment with the Safety Management System
- Support investigations into incidents and ensure follow‑up actions are implemented and closed
- Prepare and manage the annual audit plan covering regulatory privileges, manuals, records, training, management systems, and continuing airworthiness
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of relevant job‑related experience in aviation technical quality or airworthiness
- ICAO Type II Engineer License with at least one aircraft type rating
- Qualified Auditor with recognized certification
- Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems within a large airline environment
- Experience as a nominated post holder is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks and maintenance standards
- Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems, quality assurance, and audit principles
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities
- Lead technical quality and compliance for a world‑class aviation operation
- Work closely with regulators and senior leadership on critical airworthiness matters
- Influence safety, compliance, and quality standards across aircraft operations
