Position Overview

Hamad International Airport, part of Qatar Airways Group, is seeking an Aviation Safety Specialist to support the delivery and continuous improvement of aviation safety programmes. This role focuses on safety management systems, regulatory compliance, hazard identification, and risk management to ensure safe and efficient airport operations in line with national and international aviation standards.

• Support the maintenance and review of aviation safety and investigation programmes in alignment with SMS requirements.
• Coordinate with aerodrome departments and airport stakeholders to address aviation safety requirements.
• Review aviation safety procedures to ensure compliance with QCAR regulations and operational standards.
• Develop and maintain hazard logs and risk registers in line with regulator and MATAR requirements.
• Define and document hazard identification and risk management processes within the Safety Management System.
• Prepare risk assessments, safety cases, and support aeronautical studies related to non‑compliance situations.
• Support aerodrome oversight inspections conducted by the QCAA Aerodrome Standards Directorate.
• Assist with aerodrome certification processes and ensure documentation remains current and compliant.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance airport safety performance.

• High School, vocational, or diploma qualification with at least five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of job‑related experience.
• Completed Safety Management Systems training from ICAO or ACI.
• Completed ICAO Annex 14 training and Apron Management training from ICAO or ACI.
• Project management training from a recognised institution.
• Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing manuals, SOPs, and safety documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to translate complex aviation safety policies into clear operational procedures.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and organisational skills.
