The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring mechanical systems installation including HVAC chilled water systems and associated equipment. The role ensures compliance with project requirements, supports system integration, and contributes to achieving successful testing, commissioning, and handover.
Responsibilities- Inspect HVAC systems, chilled water piping, ductwork, pumps, valves, and ventilation systems.
- Verify installation against approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Review WIRs, MIRs, and RFIs and ensure inspection readiness before approvals.
- Monitor mechanical equipment installation and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate with OEM vendors and contractors for system interfaces and installation accuracy.
- Support commissioning, IST, Integrated Systems Testing, and startup readiness.
- Identify and report quality issues, NCRs, and non‑compliance items.
- Maintain inspection logs, documentation, and photographic records.
- Assist in snagging, punch list closure, and final mechanical handover.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and escalated issues as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical inspection for construction or industrial projects.
- Preferably experienced in data centres, HVAC‑intensive, or mission‑critical environments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical installations.
- Familiar with inspection processes, QA/QC documentation, and commissioning procedures.
- UPDA certification preferred.
- Good coordination and problem‑solving skills.
