We are looking for a NDT Technician / Inspector and Assistant QC Inspector who will be responsible for supporting inspection, testing, and quality control activities during the repair and refurbishment of rotating equipment and turbo machinery. The role ensures components meet applicable standards, client specifications, and quality requirements throughout dismantling, inspection, repair, and final assembly stages.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. NDT Inspection Duties
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods including:
- Visual Testing (VT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Inspect critical components such as:
- Detect and evaluate defects such as cracks, corrosion, erosion, and fatigue damage.
B. QC Inspection Support
- Assist QC Inspectors/Engineers in:
- Incoming material inspection
- Final inspection prior to dispatch
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and clearances as per drawings and specifications.
- Ensure inspection hold points and quality plans (ITP) are followed.
C. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- NDT reports
- Inspection checklists and formats
- Calibration and equipment logs
- Record inspection findings with proper defect evaluation and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain traceability of components and inspection records.
D. Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- ASME, API, ISO, ASTM standards
- Client specifications and internal QA/QC procedures
- Follow company safety rules and quality management system (QMS).
E. Equipment & Tools
- Operate and maintain NDT inspection equipment.
- Ensure proper calibration and certification of measuring instruments.
- Use precision tools such as:
- Micrometers
F. Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Workshop/Production teams
- Mechanical and repair engineers
- Support client inspections, audits, and third-party inspections.
Education
- Diploma / ITI / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
Certifications
- NDT Certification (Level II )
- ASNT / PCN / ISO 9712
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in NDT for rotating machinery or turbo machinery.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in QC/inspection in mechanical or repair workshops.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment and turbo machinery components.
- Understanding of inspection codes and standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and report‑writing ability.
