ROLE PURPOSE
To perform independent quality control inspection of mechanical / piping activities on behalf of client, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, procedures, codes, and project specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform in-process and final QC inspection of mechanical / piping works in accordance with approved ITPs, drawings, and specifications.
- Inspect piping fabrication, fit-up, and erection works including alignment, supports, and flange management.
- Inspect mechanical equipment installation, static/rotating equipment, and associated piping tie-ins.
- Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing and flushing activities.
- Review and verify contractor/sub-contractor QC documentation, material certificates, and inspection & test records.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for deviations and monitor corrective actions to close-out.
- Attend and record hold points, witness points, and inspection release notes as per the ITP.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate inspection records/log.
- Coordinate with client, EPC contractor, and site QC teams to resolve technical/quality issues.
- Ensure full compliance with project HSE requirements at all times while on site.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Welding, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent trade background).
- CSWIP 3.1 (Welding Inspector) — mandatory and current.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B16.5, and related piping/mechanical codes.
- NDT awareness (RT/UT/MT/PT) an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as QC Inspector (Mechanical/Piping) in Oil & Gas
- Proven QC inspection experience on Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or LNG EPC/brownfield projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant international codes and standards applicable to the discipline.
