Airswift is seeking for QC Inspector (Instrument) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.

Qualifications
  • Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation/Telecom degree and/or diploma with experience in quality control in multi-discipline construction and commissioning environment.
  • Preferably having formal training in QC and membership with recognized or other professional institutions.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience for bachelor’s degree holders or 15 years for Diploma holders in QA/QC inspection experience in Electrical and Instrumentation works within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial construction projects; GCC experience is preferred.
  • Preferred to have Hazardous Area knowledge and Compatibility of Ex-Inspection in Dangerous zones.
  • Strong knowledge of installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with applicable international standards and codes including IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and project specifications.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections of Electrical and Instrumentation construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, ITPs, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform inspections and quality surveillance of Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and Cathodic Protection systems, including pipeline cathodic protection installations, throughout fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases.
  • Witness, verify, and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and Cathodic Protection equipment and systems to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), applicable international codes and standards, and client requirements.
  • Inspect installation of transformers, switchgears, MCCs, distribution panels, UPS systems, cables, junction boxes, field instruments, control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA), and associated equipment.
  • Verify cable laying, cable routing, termination, glanding, earthing/grounding, lighting, and electrical equipment installation activities.
  • Inspect instrumentation installations including impulse tubing, instrument hook-ups, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, junction boxes, and marshalling cabinets.
  • Witness and monitor testing activities including insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, grounding measurements, loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and system acceptance tests.
  • Verify material receiving inspections and ensure compliance of electrical and instrumentation equipment with approved specifications and material certifications.
  • Review inspection records, test reports, calibration certificates, and quality documentation for completeness and compliance.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with construction, commissioning, contractor, personnel to ensure timely execution and resolution of quality issues.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformities, and follow up corrective actions through close-out.
  • Ensure measuring and test equipment are calibrated and suitable for use.
  • Ensure inspection records are maintained and support the implementation of the Project Quality Management System and HSE requirements.
