Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Civil (Road) to oversee quality control activities for civil, structural, infrastructure, building, roadwork, and pipeline construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all construction activities comply with approved specifications, project requirements, quality standards, and applicable international codes. This role requires extensive experience in quality inspection and testing within large-scale Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, Infrastructure, or EPC projects, with strong expertise in civil construction, concrete works, road construction, underground utilities, pipeline‑related activities, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Inspection & Compliance
- Inspect and verify civil, structural, architectural, infrastructure, and pipeline construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, company procedures and applicable international standards and codes.
- Ensure construction activities meet quality requirements throughout all project phases.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the project Quality Management System (QMS).
- Concrete & Batch Plant Quality Control
- Conduct batch‑plant pre‑qualification audits; verify calibration, production processes, material storage practices, and quality systems.
- Witness and review concrete trial mix designs to confirm strength requirements, workability, durability, and project specification compliance.
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, concrete placement, curing, finishing activities and grouting works, including the installation of non‑shrink grout beneath equipment foundations and supports.
- Civil & Structural Inspection
- Inspect foundation types (equipment, machine, transformer foundations, structural pedestals, concrete structures) for dimensional accuracy, tolerances, workmanship and drawing compliance.
- Inspect structural steel fabrication and erection, monitoring alignment, leveling, bolt tightening, welding, installation tolerances, and passive fire‑proofing applications.
- Roads & Infrastructure Inspection
- Perform quality inspections for road construction activities: subgrade preparation, sub‑base & road base installation, prime and tack coat application, asphalt paving, compaction testing, thickness verification, survey and level checks, pavement testing.
- Inspect civil infrastructure works such as culverts, drainage systems, retaining structures, channels, utility corridors and associated infrastructure facilities.
- Pipeline & Utility Works Inspection
- Inspect pipeline construction: trench excavation and preparation, bedding installation, pipe lowering operations, back‑filling, padding, post‑padding works.
- Conduct right‑of‑way inspections for alignment and environmental compliance.
- Inspect pipeline crossings (road, utility, railway, Wadi) and bund/dyke walls, containment systems, earthworks.
- Verify installation and leak testing of GRE piping, and inspect HDPE piping installation, welding, visual inspections, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
- Materials & Testing
- Verify incoming material inspections and material acceptance processes; review MARs, mill certificates, test reports, calibration certificates and inspection records.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, preservation and utilisation of approved materials.
- Witness and monitor laboratory and field testing: soil compaction, field density, concrete slump, compressive strength, aggregate, asphalt, and other project‑required quality tests.
- Quality Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and review inspection reports, quality records, surveillance reports, punch lists, turnover dossiers.
- Coordinate inspection schedules, hold points, witness points and surveillance activities with project stakeholders.
- Raise and track Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), quality observations and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Monitor corrective action implementation through successful closure.
