Job Summary

The Electrical QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installation and inspection activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, and international standards. The role includes implementing the project's Quality Management System (QMS), preparing quality documentation, coordinating inspections, and maintaining quality records throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on Oil & Gas projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for electrical works.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, and applicable international standards.
  • Prepare and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and site team to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented.
  • Prepare and submit Requests for Inspection (RFIs) and coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
  • Conduct and witness inspections for electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor site inspections and ensure timely closure of inspection comments, punch list items, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Prepare and review technical submittals, material submittals, product datasheets, and quality documentation for client approval.
  • Maintain inspection reports, test records, calibration records, quality dossiers, and other QA/QC documentation.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
  • Identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare final quality documentation and handover dossiers at project completion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical QA/QC Engineer.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas projects is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation standards, QA/QC procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and quality documentation.
  • Experience in preparing Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, RFIs, technical submittals, material submittals, and product datasheets.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, NEC, BS, ISO 9001, and client-specific Oil & Gas specifications.
  • UPDA/MMUP Engineering Registration is an added advantage.
  • Valid Qatar Driving License is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
