Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Material Inspector with strong expertise in material inspection, welding, and NDT activities for project/site operations. The ideal candidate should have a Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering qualification, valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or AWS-CWI certification held for more than 5 years, and substantial QA/QC material inspection experience.
Roles & Responsibilities- Perform inspection of incoming and project materials to verify compliance with approved specifications, drawings, standards, and purchase requirements.
- Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs), inspection reports, certificates, and relevant quality documentation.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of materials and fabricated components.
- Verify material identification, traceability, storage, preservation, and handling requirements.
- Coordinate and witness applicable NDT activities and review NDT reports and results.
- Inspect welding-related activities and verify compliance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
- Raise and follow up on NCRs, inspection observations, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, QA/QC teams, and client representatives on material inspection requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with project quality requirements and applicable international standards.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Degree Holders:
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. - Diploma Holders:
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience. - Minimum 5 years of specific experience as a QA/QC Inspector in Material Inspection.
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector OR AWS-CWI certification – Mandatory.
- Welding Inspector certification must have been held for more than 5 years.
- NDT Level II – Mandatory.
- Age preferably 30–55 years.
- Strong experience in material inspection, quality control, documentation, and traceability.
