Position: Offshore Inspector (Operations Expansion Start-Up)

Location

Location: Onshore, Qatar

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Inspector to support inspection, integrity, and quality assurance activities during the EPC, commissioning, start-up, and asset handover phases of major offshore projects.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of newly constructed facilities through proactive inspection programs, defect identification, integrity assessments, and application of industry-standard inspection techniques. This position requires extensive field presence, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a strong understanding of inspection and asset integrity management practices.

Key Responsibilities Inspection & Integrity Management
  • Conduct external visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) examinations on offshore equipment including:
    • Pressure vessels
    • Boilers
    • Heat exchangers
    • Pressure safety devices
    • Process piping
    • Lifting equipment
  • Perform preliminary integrity assessments of static equipment and piping systems, evaluate inspection findings, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Utilize integrity management systems such as Meridium or equivalent software to document findings, generate recommendations, and monitor equipment condition.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Carry out or supervise a wide range of NDT techniques, including:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • Radiographic Testing (RT)
    • Eddy Current Testing
    • IRIS Inspections
    • Hardness Testing
    • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
    • Metallography
    • Thermography
    • Boroscopy
    • Coating Thickness Measurements (DFT)
  • Ensure all inspection activities are conducted safely and in accordance with approved procedures and industry standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Inspect maintenance activities, shutdown works, and capital project execution to verify compliance with:
    • Company inspection standards
    • Approved procedures
    • International codes and specifications
    • Quality and safety requirements
  • Monitor welding, fabrication, coating, installation, and repair activities to ensure workmanship and quality requirements are achieved.
Inspection Planning & Follow-Up
  • Raise inspection recommendations and notifications within integrity management systems and SAP.
  • Track inspection findings to closure and verify corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Support risk mitigation initiatives by identifying integrity threats and recommending appropriate measures.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports and technical documentation.
  • Maintain inspection records, databases, test results, and historical equipment data.
  • Ensure all inspection findings and recommendations are properly documented and traceable.
Equipment & Contractor Management
  • Maintain inspection tools, instruments, and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Support procurement planning for new inspection equipment as required.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractor inspection personnel to ensure service quality and compliance with company requirements.
Additional Duties
  • Support special inspection programs, shutdown inspections, emergency response activities, and other integrity-related assignments as directed by Inspection Engineering leadership.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
  • Ensure full compliance with all company HSE policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and actively participate in risk assessments and hazard identification processes.
  • Follow all applicable quality standards and operational controls while performing inspection activities.
Qualifications
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification in Engineering
  • Holds certification in API 510/570 or equivalent, API 653 as required.
  • Minimum 4 years of in-service inspection experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, or Energy industries.
  • Conversant with using Meridium or similar Data Management Software.
  • Awareness in risk-based inspection, Corrosion/corrosion control and damage mechanisms.
  • Basic awareness in relevant plant processes and materials.
  • Knowledge in the following inspection technologies: UT, MT, PT, RT, and Advanced NDT.
  • Conversant with relevant international codes and specifications.
