Job Title: Senior Food Safety And Hygiene Officer
The Senior Food Safety And Hygiene Officer is responsible for managing food and safety-associated regulations by conducting compliance audits, inspections, investigations, and verification reviews of food businesses. The role involves working closely with department managers to ensure ongoing compliance, elevate standards, and provide appropriate training to personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and ensure completion of food supplier audits against implemented HACCP systems, identifying corrective actions and escalating major concerns.
- Provide support in fulfilling Authority objectives in accordance with the Branch work plan and ensure effective and efficient food safety services.
- Facilitate the dissemination of operational information and data to inform operational objectives.
- Provide quality technical information and advice on compliance issues.
- Undertake functions and activities in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures to fulfill Authority objectives.
- Conduct investigations and initiate appropriate enforcement actions to a high service level in a timely fashion.
- Source new suppliers and visit them regularly to evaluate their production in terms of hygiene.
- Coordinate the ongoing development requirements of the department’s food safety program and compliance, including carrying out internal audits.
- Nurture good working relationships both within and across departments under the food safety program.
- Maintain all registers, records, and documentation relating to the role.
- Work closely with other safety roles within the Company to develop a supportive relationship.
- Minimum 5 year(s) working experience.
- 3 year(s) relevant working experience.
- 2 year(s) GCC experience is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines (HACCP, FSMA, ISO 22000).
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses in food production and handling processes.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
- Knowledge of food hygiene principles, practices, and procedures (personal hygiene, sanitation, cleaning, and disinfection).
- Skill in conducting food safety audits and inspections of food establishments, production facilities, and supply chains.
- Experience in providing training, education, and guidance to food handlers, production staff, and management.
