Qatar Duty Free is looking for a Shop Supervisor. The role will support the Duty Manager in coordinating daily shop floor operations, with a strong focus on driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring effective merchandising. Key responsibilities include staff allocation, spot checks on cash handling (ASH), stock monitoring and verification, shift closing procedures, and addressing customer concerns. The Shop Supervisor also contributes to achieving daily sales targets by guiding, motivating, and supervising the assigned team.
Responsibilities- Assist the Duty Manager in organizing the daily operational shop requirements such as staffing, cash and stocking to ensure that sales are maximized and company policy and procedures are followed by staff.
- Monitor and address any issues in relation to stocks to the relevant party in order to maintain the stock level of the shop and to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist the Duty Manager in carrying out the daily priorities on a shift basis to ensure workflow completed within required timeline.
- Monitor the cash discrepancies of Sales Assistant within the shop, ensure stock shrinkage does not exceed the budget.
- Conduct on job training with the new sales teams to help improve their customer service and product knowledge skills to better serve the customer.
- Facilitate random spot checks on the tills on a daily basis to ensure the company's honesty and integrity standards are being applied by staff.
- Coordinate the handover of shift briefings with the Duty Manager, regarding the daily tasks, store conditions, sales, shift coverage, and the day-to-day operations.
- Complete proper closing procedures as per company policy, tills, store in-stock conditions, merchandising, and visual standards for assigned areas.
- Handle sales returns and void slips as per the set SOPs.
- Authorize staff discounts whenever required, ensuring employees are not exceeding the monthly purchase limit and a consistent approach has been applied to all employees.
- Respond positively to guest feedback/complaint, understand guest expectations, bring all complaints to the attention of the Duty Manager or Retail Manager for future improvement.
- Communicate on a daily basis with the sales team on special promotions and new product launches by conducting pre-shift briefings, ensuring the team is well briefed, and trained prior to the launch of the new products and promotions.
- Should have at least High School qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years of job-related experience.
- Must have a proven track record in the ability to manage stock on a day-to-day basis.
- Should have direct hands-on experience in retail inventory management.
- Experience in handling complex issues and negotiation is essential.
- Ideally with experience in the travel retail industry.
