OHL SR Technican

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution / college /university acceptable to KAHRAMAA or Secondary School certificate with Technical Trade certificate.
• Ability to communicate, read and write in English at Secondary School Level.
• Minimum 04 years of experience for Diploma holders and minimum 06 years'experience for Technical Trade certificate in the maintenance and erection ofEHV overhead lines for voltage levels up to 400kV
• Able to learn, read and understand instructions, drawings and procedures.
• Knowledge of erection, assembly and maintenance of EHV Transmission O/Hlines.
• Ability of identifying the parts and usage of proper tools.
• Knowledge of Safety Rules and Regulations.

Works on high structures for maintenance, repair and inspection.

• Carry-out preventive and corrective maintenance of overhead lines.
• Ensure his own safety and that of his co-workers during works.
• Day/Night/Vigilant ground patrolling and reporting on KM approved format.
• Inspection and maintenance of all the O/H line components.
• Pre-commissioning inspection of new EHV/HV overhead lines.
• Erection and maintenance of guard wires poles installation.
• Tower footing resistance measurements and reporting.
• Attends standby duties.
• Attend emergencies and tripping of overhead lines and other related activities as required.
• Reports any abnormalities found on high structures/lines etc. to KM Engineer /Supervisor.
• Completes work on time and ensures proper use of tools/ devices andconsumable items.
• Maintains accurate record of condition of OHL equipment and related history.
• Assists the Supervisor and hands over all data and reports for preparation of OHL activities.
• Operation & use of non-contact diagnostic instruments like Thermal Imaging camera, Corona camera etc. and prepare reports.
• Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.

• Ability to understand safety rules.

• Basic knowledge of computer usage for email and preparation of work reports.
• Requires extensive traveling between venues/depots during normal and oroutside office hours.
• Requires mobile communication while on duty outside the office.
